It was announced on 19 September 2008 that Mynydd Graig Goch, above Cwm Dulyn, had officially been re-classified as a mountain (a hill over 2000ft). (See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/7623904.stm)
This means that to complete the ridge walk properly you don't just have to go to Garnedd Goch, the previously accepted end point, but now you have to carry on to the next peak too! This adds well over a mile to the total walk, or even more if you used to call it a day at Craig Cwm Silyn.
The good news is that you can still walk off the end of the Nantlle Ridge and be back at Cae Mawr for tea. We can even drop you off at the start of the walk so that you don't have to make a long trudge back to your starting point.
You can do a shorter circular walk from Cae Mawr taking in Craig Cwm Silyn (734m), Garnedd Goch (700m) and Mynydd Graig Goch (610m!), but it's still a fair trek, especially the stiff pull up to the cairn on Garnedd Goch. Alternatively you can save a few yards by missing out the visits to the outlying peaks -- we call it the Two Lakes Walk as you visit both Llyn Cwm Dulyn and Llynnau Cwm Silyn on the way.
Please contact us for details of any of these walks.
